Date: Tuesday 02-12-2025
Class schedule: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Location: Auditorio Edificio Vèrtex UPC (Plaza de Eusebi Güell 6, Barcelona)

On Tuesday, December 2, at 11 a.m., at the Vèrtex Auditorium of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the Telefónica UPC-UPF Chair is organizing the event “Connect Innovation. University, Business and Future”, a session aimed at exploring how scientific and technological knowledge can be transformed into disruptive innovation. The event will feature the prominent participation of Ferran Adrià, who will present the Sapiens methodology, the tool developed at elBulli to understand, create and innovate with rigor.

The session will begin with the dialogue “From the Laboratory to Action”, featuring Joan Simó Cruanyes, Innovation Director at Ametller Origen Group, and Laura Becerra-Fajardo, professor and researcher at UPF. Afterwards, Ferran Adrià, one of the world’s most influential innovators, will deliver the lecture “Sapiens: My Recipe for Innovation”.

The event aims to introduce the Sapiens methodology as a tool for understanding and innovation, to show how diverse disciplines —physics, chemistry, design, gastronomy and technology— can converge to generate disruptive ideas, and to provide practical tools for transforming academic and professional rigor into applied creative processes.
