Why this programme?
The micro-credential Workshop Metropolis Barcelona. Advanced Urban Regeneration is a learning experience that immerses participants in the world of urban and territorial planning at the metropolitan scale, with a focus on sustainable urban regeneration, climate change adaptation, innovative land management, and the creation of resilient urban infrastructures. This intensive program addresses the contemporary challenges of large cities, exploring innovative strategies for sustainable development.

Throughout the training, participants will develop critical skills to analyze and propose solutions to the complex challenges faced by modern metropolises. Through a combination of theoretical classes, practical workshops, and field visits, the program encourages a multidisciplinary approach that integrates social, economic, and environmental aspects into urban planning.

Assessment criteria
Attendance
At least 80% attendance of teaching hours is required.
Work out projects
Studies on a specific topic, by individuals or groups, in which the quality and depth of the work is assessed, among other factors.
Virtual campus
The students on this microcredential will have access to the My_ Tech_Space virtual campus - an effective platform for work and communication between the programme's students, lecturers, directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space provides the documentation for each training session before it starts, and enables students to work as a team, consult lecturers, check notes, etc.

Finalist for the European Award for Intervention in Architectural Heritage in 2021 and also in 2022, in the planning category, with special mention from the New European Bauhaus.

He is coordinator of the Doctorate and Master of Research in Urbanism (1990-2018) and of the European postgraduate Masters in Urbanism (2005-2013) at the UPC. He has given lectures and courses at over 70 European, Asian and American universities. Investigating instruments, methods and theories of the urban and territorial project, and the relationship between heritage resources and development. More than 100 books or book chapters, as many articles and direction of fifty doctoral theses. Recognized three times in the National Urban Planning Awards (Spain), the Urban Planning Award of Catalonia (2007) and the Special Heritage Award of Catalonia (2011).
